Gloria 2012 Vintage Port

Tasting Notes:

Gloria 2012 Vintage Port; Port is one of the world’s great iconic wines. Made only in the very finest years – known as ‘declared’ vintages which occur twice per decade – Vintage Ports are blended from the best produce of the firm’s own estates between the second and third year of wood ageing and left to evolve inside the bottle. Singled out for its exceptional characteristics, Gloria Porto Vintage 2012, a wine from a single year, will age in the bottle for 40 years.

Flavor: On the palate, its balance impresses. The lively, powerful, close knit tannins are integrated with the elegant acidity to support the rich flavours of ripe red berry fruits and the cedar notes from its time in oak. The finish is persistent and memorable.

Aroma: With an impenetrable blue-black colour, the nose displays a dense core of pure complex fruit, redolent of blackberry and cassis, is enveloped in a fragrant aura of violets. Cigar boxes, and subtle notes of nutmeg and black coffee emerge as the nose develops.

Suggested Food Pairings:

Enjoy with any truly special occasion, with chocolate-rich deserts, red fruit tarts, and intense and creamy cheeses.
