"55 years ago, John Franzia got his hands on decommissioned stainless steel Liquid Oxygen Tanks from NASA and salvaged them to use in making sparkling wine.
The tanks were sold along with the Franzia Winery in 1973. In the early 1990’s the tanks re-entered the Bronco orbit for a second time and were moved by John’s son Paul into their current location in Ceres. The result, our first sparkling wine branded from this unreal part of Broncos history and its truly out of this world. Introduction Burn 01 sparkling white wine, bursting with notes of peach, lemon, and grapefruit.
Enjoy it chilled, straight up, or especially mixed into a refreshing spritz. Created by winemaker Blair Guthrie and the Bronco Wine Co. Our label design and character pay homage to this spirit of exploration. Inspired by the matriarch of the Bronco winery, Theresa Franzia. Her vision and courage in the early 20th century launched the Franzia and ultimately the Bronco Winery."
