Water helps to grow a very high quality strain of rice. Kawaba Village is currently growing rice for the emperor (ie. Japan’s emperor ONLY eats Kawaba Rice).

Kawaba Village also sits at the foot of Mt. Hotaka, one of Japan’s most sacred mountains. Melted snow and spring water from this mountain has been used in various religious ceremonies & baptisms. Mt. Hotaka’s water is also used to brew Kawaba Beer.
