Bell Wine Cellars The Scoundrel Red Blend

Tasting Notes:

The Scoundrel is a “red blend” wine. This popular style of winemaking combines at least two varietals to create a delicious wine, full of flavor and freshness, often sold at a value price. You’ll notice that the varietal name, (such as Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon), is missing from the front label. Without a varietal name, we can leave the rules behind and simply create the most appealing glass of wine without having to use a specific percentage of any particular grape varietal. We can mix it up, and so can you! Like all BELL wines, you’ll find it impeccably balanced. Juicy, bright fruit, and soft, sweet oak make a lovely glass of wine. It’s a perfect wine for casual dinners or barbecues out on the patio – so go ahead, have a party, and bring out The Scoundrel!

The Scoundrel is really a softy that just wants you to play. And his wine simply follows his example – Cabernet and Syrah play very well together, delivering fruit and spice in a wine of medium weight with a satiny finish. Finely grained tannins balanced with mouthwatering acidity frame flavors of Maraschino cherry, white pepper, and a note of cranberry. Soft texture expands from mid-palate, creating a graceful end note to this appealing wine, perfect for a variety of foods.
